Meet the client

SGS Surfacing are hard surfacing specialists who work across Sussex, Kent and Surrey. They undertake large-scale commercial resurfacing projects to domestic driveways and everything in between.

The Goal

SGS Surfacing came to Inter Vivos in 2019 with two main challenges: They wanted to generate more domestic local enquiries in addition to attracting new commercial project work. In a competitive industry they needed local businesses and homeowners in need of new driveways, paths and roadways to be able to find their website and establish their expertise.

SEO Audit of the Website

We reviewed SGS Surfacing’s existing website to determine structure and content changes alongside improvements to performance, and user experience onsite. Our report concluded with an actionable task list of recommendations and opportunities.

Set up Paid Search Marketing

We launched a series of Google Ad campaign to supplement our SEO activities generating more local enquiries and increasing SGS Surfacing’s visibility online. This resulted in an average of 28 qualified enquiries per month.

Content Targeted Homeowners

This included building out individual service pages for each of SGS Surfacing’s offerings, creating case study pages and writing regular article content. With these exercises all ongoing, we generated a 58% increase in SGS Surfacing’s visibility on Google year on year.

Content Targeting Commercial Clients

To help SGS reach more commercial clients, we built out landing pages for each commercial service and concentrated our efforts on ranking for relevant local terms. We continued to add completed project pages to the site with an emphasis on completed commercial work.  In addition we launched a dedicated Google Ads campaign to support this activity.

The Results

SGS Surfacing’s expansion into the commercial sector and increase in local enquiries has resulted in significant growth. The increase in business earnt through better quality leads on the website and bigger commercial projects allowed SGS Surfacing to employ more team members and buy their own tarmac machine rather than leasing.

What’s next?

With the success of their quality lead generation and paid search conversion rate, SGS Surfacing are now looking to expand their commercial offerings into the Kent and Surrey area. We will be supporting this with localised PPC campaigns and new SEO content to land them in top search results positions for relevant terms whilst continuing to add content and make improvements to their site.
